Its not all Rosy and Jim you know.

When the weather is bad then there are things must be done in advance. Make sure you've got enough gas wood and coal.Fire up your engine and get some heat into it which will also charge your batteries. See that you have enough water incase the river freezes around you as it has today. Its quite disconcerting at first to hear the sound of ice creaking and crunching around your hull but the normal day to day motions of a liveaboard will create a safe zone around you.And warm clean clothes in layers. lots of layers.

but they say that there's no such thing as bad weather, just bad preparation and poor clothing.Remember the 7 Ps, Prior preparation and planning prevents piss poor performance.

Everyday something happens to make it all worthwhile. Today, feeling the tangible gratitude of Ronnie, our 30 year old rescue Shetland pony as I gave him an apple and some bread. No doubt he'll be waiting for me at the gate later when I get home from work.

The Island is my precious unique home. Thank you to everyone who is helping us in our struggle to stay.
